Noren

The Noren is a well-known sign which is exists in Japan and often hung at the entrance of restaurants or shops.
Usualy,it has the shop name or emblem such as family crest or other symbol design.
The design and color of a shop's noren are passed down from generation to generatiion as a symbol of continued good faith.
Nowadays,old noren designs can still be seen in cities denoting their Japanese heritage.
Noren is not used only as a symbol,but also as a curtain to block sunlight and maintain privacy.
For this use,a noren can be plain cloth or have an artistic design unrelated to heritage.
